At first I was completely shocked and disturbed -- a little empty/drained in the immediate aftermath of something so sinister. But it kept gnawing at me -- as exceptional, not merely shocking, art is prone to do. The movie begs for further analysis, thought, and confrontation; and confrontation is at the core of Oldboy.
